RAWLINSON SISTERS LAUNCH OLYMPIC CAMPAIGN
Saturday, 29th July 2006
Victoria and Emma Rawlinson, Youth Gold medalists, are campaigning for an Olympic medal in the Yngling class.
Having achieved 4th place at last month's Yngling World Championships in La Rochelle as bowman, Victoria is keen to get back to helming and teams up with her sister, Emma, to recreate the proven magic of this combination.
The sisters, who have sailed together all their lives, have many successes to their names, including:
- Gold medal at ISAF Youth World Championship 2000, Australia
- Silver medal at ISAF Youth World Championship 2001, France
- Young Sailors of the Year 2001
- Inshore Yachtsmen of the Year 2001
After such a successful Youth sailing campaign, the sisters have focused on achieving academic success. Victoria is now a qualified Doctor of Medicine and Emma studies for her final year training as a Certified Accountant.
With their academic goals achieved, the girls are determined to fulfill their greatest ambition and win a Gold medal for their country at the Olympic Games.
